President Feridun Hamdullahpur's Message
It is our conviction that publicly supported institutions such as the University of Waterloo should have transparency and accountability as top priorities, both in decision-making and in performance evaluation.
On this site you will find links to our plan for Waterloo's sixth decade, "Pursuing global Excellence: Seizing Opportunities for Canada," which presents a number of bold initiatives and measureable goals. We are committed to report publicly on our progress toward these goals.
I invite you to browse:
Our institution’s performance indicators, prepared by UW’s Office of Institutional Analysis and Planning, that report on a wide range of data about students, faculty, research, staff, co-operative education, resources, and fundraising;
- the results of Waterloo’s participation in the most recent National Survey of Student Engagement (NSSE);
- agreements and other submissions to the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities;
- our contribution to the Common University Dataset Ontario (CUDO), which includes information on degrees, enrolment by program, library collections, transfer admissions, admission procedures, and instructional faculty and class size, among other items;
- enrolment statistics, presented in “Cognos Cubes” that can be organized and viewed in variable ways on the topics of international student registration, student registration, class information and degrees granted;
- and other relevant documents, listed at right.
The University of Waterloo has a long tradition of providing information to the public, government, students and parents, and this web site is intended to act as an important clearinghouse for our public accountability.
